PROFILE OF Dr. ‘TOSIN BABALOLA
Dr. ’Tosin Babalola is a trained professional with a strong passion for assisting parents understand how their children learn as well as empowering parents by partnering with them and other professionals to work directly with hundreds of children that may be considered to have special needs and learning disorders with the aim of ensuring that each child succeeds and reaches their full potential.
She is armed with adequate knowledge not only to early-detect developmental and cognitive red flags in young people, but also to help afford them the same opportunities that the mainstream schools provide. In her own words, “There is no work that is more fulfilling than seeing a child begging to bloom irrespective of whether they are developing typically or not”. But she believes the earlier children with or at risk of disabilities receive assistance and the sooner their families receive support towards their child’s development, the farther they will go in life.
Having completed her first degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management (IRPM) from the prestigious University of Lagos, she embarked on her postgraduate studies in Special Educational Needs (Inclusive and psychological Perspectives) at the University of Roehampton, London, UK, to further hone her skill, after completing her masters, she embarked on a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Leicester. She has further attended several overseas training and courses including “A Developmental Approach to Maximizing Language and Literary Skills” from the Harvard Graduate School of Education where she built her competence in helping children develop robust language skills by essentially engaging in deliberate conversations. She also gained a Diploma in Dyslexia Support from The Blackford Centre for Dyslexia, Marylebone, London UK. She is also a registered member of the British Psychological Society U.K.
Mrs. Tosin Babalola is happily married for over 16 years with two handsome boys aged 15 and 13 and devotes her service to God through the Children’s Ministry of The Elevation Church, Lagos. She enjoys praying and spending quality time with her family.
She was the Junior Church head of The Elevation Church, London until recently before she was ordained the resident pastor of the Manchester expression of the Elevation Church in the United Kingdom.
